Trisha Mahoney is an experiential dramaturg interested in the way that we can use the heightened stakes of immersive games to start socially-conscious discussion. Through writing, creating, and facilitating dramaturgical experiences, Trisha generates civic engagement in a variety of mediums.

Head Writing Center Tutor - University Center for Writing-based Learning

  • Quarterly schedule development for 80+ writing tutors at two college campuses

  • Work with college and postgrad students to assist with their writing process

  • Lead quarterly professional development workshops on a myriad of writing-specific topics for University students and writing tutors

  • Began as a Writing Center Tutor before being promoted to Head Fellow (March 2016) and my current role (June 2017 

Editor in Chief - The Grappler

  • Edit and vet thirty articles each quarter to be published on a twice a week basis

  • Write two original theatrical analysis-based articles per quarter

  • Lead weekly team meetings 

  • Create quarterly events centered on relevant themes to open discussion across campus 

Education Intern - Compass Creative Dramatics

  • Created lesson plans for various workshops that were taught to students aged 5-13

  • Taught 4 workshops a week at multiple Chicago Park District camps 

  • Served as a Teaching Assistant for Compass camps where we helped students to learn and perform a show within 5 days


Educational Programming Intern - 826CHI

  • Created original lesson plans for and led 2 two week educational creative writing programs for elementary and middle school students 

  • Assisted in weekly workshops for elementary to high school students 

  • Manage a task force of between 8-12 volunteers on a daily basis


Producer - The ActorSingers  

Summer 2015


  • Oversaw the responsible use of production funds within the allotted budget 

  • Acted as liaison between all of the departments of the production and the theatre company 

  • Assigned and led various cohorts such as program creation and advertisement

Front of House/Box Office Attendant - Assassination Theatre 

Aug 2015- Feb 2016 


  • Trained volunteer ushers daily on the practices of the theatre

  • Gained a familiarity with Brown Paper Tickets in order to complete box office transactions 

  • Collaborated with the House Manager and Audience Services Manager to organize the theatre in preparation for every performance 

  • Provided a friendly and enthusiastic outlet to address audience questions and concerns
